Elders visit congregants for a variety of reasons: to console, to teach, to celebrate, to support, to encourage, to correct, to witness, or simply to see how folks are doing. They also visit to encourage faith formation in their congregation. However, visiting a congregant can feel intimidating or invasive at times. Participants will explore how to care for their congregation and learn about how to strengthen the practice of visitation in their congregations.
