Off the Rails: a social justice pilgrimage around America

Monday, January 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Inspired by a “God-incidence” meeting with a human rights champion from Atlanta in Waterton Glacier Park and by their own long-time devotion to connecting separated people and cultures, Gus and Wynanda traveled America by rail for six weeks (fall 2021), learning from an array of people engaged in unique advocacy – Amtrak staffers, park rangers, museum curators, musicians, artists, even a Quaker abolitionist. Their own (slightly weary) Kingdom-imagination was enlivened by the preparation for, experience of and reflection on this pilgrimage. Through conversation and prayer, they look forward to inviting the same for us all as we begin the year of our Lord 2022.

Facilitators: Gus and Wynanda Polman (Fleetwood CRC)
