This is not the time for nostalgia, escapism, or easy answers. Instead, we must recover the grand narrative of God’s mission and our place therein. We must drink from deep wells that orient us to the in-breaking of God’s kingdom and re-form us as Christ-bearers in confused times... Charles Ringma, author of In the Midst of Much-Doing: Cultivating a Missional Spirituality
1Life is keen to provide resources that connect to a clear vision of flourishing Christian spirituality in the Reformed tradition. We trust that the five callings named by our denomination’s synod as ‘streams of renewal’ truly do help us recover the grand narrative of God’s mission and our place in it. They provide us with a holistic framework to consider spiritual maturity; and they give our BC CRCs a shared vocabulary to speak about the training we need in order to be life-long learners who keep growing up in Christ.

To that end, we offer 1Life FOUNDATIONS
Who is FOUNDATIONS for?
- designed for councils and other church leaders – including young or upcoming leaders or fatigued leaders – to be spiritually refreshed and Biblically trained
What does this look like?
- FOUNDATIONS is available in a variety of formats and time-frames, from a 1 hour overview, a 1 day retreat or a 6 session deeper exploration. All formats offer a rich experience of conversation, scripture, song and prayer.
What is the goal of FOUNDATIONS?
- to be newly inspired by the great Story of God’s mission and the church’s place in it
- to contextualize the gift and the ‘gap’ (room to grow) of each calling to your own church. Learn More Here
- to strengthen strategic use and shaping of 1Life’s resources for your local church
