The ABC’s of Christian Faith: theology conversation cohort

October – June 2025/26

Theology is a wrestling & resting in the mysteries of God, God’s presence, God’s world and our human life within it. Kelly Kapic

This monthly cohort will bring together the writings of scripture, creed (Nicene) contemporary testimony (Our World Belongs to God), hymn (Lift Up Your Hearts) and poetry (There is Still a Future). Each will help open the door to the great mysteries of Christian faith which we’re invited to be astonished by, changed by and pass on to others.

We’ll practice postures of a healthy theology: humility, wonder, prayer. From the perspective of our Reformed tradition, we’ll think together about such things as: what it means to ‘fully agree with’ a tradition as the Covenant for Office-bearers requires; what it means to speak confessionally in our own time and place; the value of a denominational songbook when there’s so much music available; why so much of the Bible is written in poetry and how that affects theology.

Participants will need a copy of A Little Book for New Theologians by Kelly M. Kapic and Our World Belongs to God. The songbook Lift Up Your Hearts (Faith Alive) is recommended but not required.
