SUMMARY:Let's Talk About It: On-line Zoom Conversation Group
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us to chew over articles from the March issue of Christian Courier! We expect to start with the articles on page 1 and wonder together about whether faith can help us navigate tensions. That’s the question CC posed to MPs from BC and Alberta about a new pipeline. It’s also a question to consider regarding the tensions in the U.S. as described in “Minnesotans Pull Together” and in Michael Buma’s editorial\, “Are You Ok?” “…Divides are deepening” said Arnold Viersen (MP AB). Does recognizing that need a response from us? \nFor Christian Courier online\, go to: https://www.christiancourier.ca \nIt’s great to read Christian Courier online\, but we also recommend it as a physical paper you can hold in your hands. Consider subscribing to Christian Courier today! If your church is interested in having paper copies\, please reach out here.  \n  \nFor more info & a Zoom link\, contact: nvlettinga@yahoo.ca \nFacilitators: Neil & Virginia Lettinga

SUMMARY:Let's Talk About It: On-line Zoom Conversation Group
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us to chew over articles in the February issue of Christian Courier! There are lots of interesting articles\, but this month we’ll start with the page 1 story “Cautious Hope in Venezuela.” Can you see parallel ways Canadian Christians respond to political and social tensions? Could our churches be becoming “vaccinated against politics?” Is that always unhealthy? Michael DeMoor’s short piece on “Moral Panics” offers an angle on this as well. (Interested in the political possibilities? We may host a separate Zoom discussion with Kathy Vandergrift and Matthijs Kronemeijer to unpack their articles referencing Bill C-9. Email us for information! \nFor Christian Courier online\, go to: https://www.christiancourier.ca \nIt’s great to read Christian Courier online\, but we also recommend it as a physical paper you can hold in your hands. SUMMARY:Let's Talk About It: On-line Zoom Conversation Group
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us to chew over articles in the January issue of Christian Courier! There are lots of interesting articles\, but we thought we’d focus on two topics: the feature story on the “Modesty Manifesto” and the reflections on CRC developments in 2025 (an article by Henry DeJong and an opinion piece by former Banner editor Shiao Chong.) We are hoping that Chong and some of the CC editors will join us! \nFor Christian Courier online\, go to: https://www.christiancourier.ca \nIt’s great to read Christian Courier online\, but we also recommend it as a physical paper you can hold in your hands. DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for a conversation about the November issue of Christian Courier! Can we live with unresolved tensions? As a nation? As individuals? As Christians? SUMMARY:Let's Talk About It: On-line Zoom Conversation Group
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us for conversation about the October issue of Christian Courier! We expect to open by considering how Reformed Christians navigate divides; the October issue has articles about separatism in Alberta\, struggles over coal plants\, and ICE in the U.S. It is a challenge to hear one another with love! CC is also celebrating its 80th anniversary\, so we hope to hear stories about how CC has influenced and encouraged folks. What are the hopeful signs in the midst of fights and fractures in our churches and society? \nFor Christian Courier online\, go to: https://www.christiancourier.ca \nIt’s great to read Christian Courier online\, but we also recommend it as a physical paper you can hold in your hands. SUMMARY:Let's Talk About It: On-line Zoom Conversation Group
DESCRIPTION:For this month’s conversation\, we will begin by looking at the meditation published on the front page of the April Christian Courier: Resurrection in Ruins by Brian Walsh. Then we’ll consider fresh observations and responses to CC’s survey about the future of the CRC in Canada. Are there hopeful signs in the midst of the sorrowful splinterings within our churches? How are some of the churches in Alberta seeing things? \nFor Christian Courier online\, go to: https://www.christiancourier.ca \n\nChristian Courier is accessible in paper copies as well as on-line.  Consider subscribing  – if your church is interested in having paper copies\, please reach out here. \n\n  \nFor more info & a Zoom link\, contact: nvlettinga@yahoo.ca \nFacilitators: Neil & Virginia Lettinga

SUMMARY:Let's Talk About It: On-line Zoom Conversation Group
DESCRIPTION:What can we learn about ourselves from the survey that the Christian Courier put out last month? An amazing number of people responded and there is a lot to talk about! Survey-inspired articles expand on how respondents feel about the future of the CRC in Canada and whether respondents support a distinct Canadian CRC. A short story by Allan Romkema (“Why listen when you have all the answers?”) coordinates well with CC’s musings over the answers they received.
