DESCRIPTION:Join us as we explore the crucial topic of Trauma Informed Response in the Church. This in-person workshop will take place on Monday\, October 23\, 2023 at Fleetwood Christian Reformed Church at 9165 160 Street\, Surrey\, BC V4N 2X7. \nThere are 2 time options to chose from. 12:30-3pm OR 6:30-9pm. Beverages & snacks will be provided at both events. \nTrauma\, grief\, and loss exist in all communities\, including churches. Church leaders can provide support & help the hurting in their communities by learning more about trauma\, its symptoms & effects. Join us as we explore how to respond in an appropriate\, biblical\, compassionate manner\, creating safe places for people to begin the process of healing – a journey that takes time. Wherever there is trauma\, healing is possible. God feels our pain with us\, and wants to help us heal. \nWhether you are a church leader\, volunteer\, or simply interested in learning more about trauma informed response\, this event is open to all. DESCRIPTION:God’s call to justice\, and our walk as faithful citizens in this world\, inspires passionate debate. Sometimes these debates descend into polarization that sounds like: “Its Us vs. Them… and them are “no-good-evil-doers.” \nIn this workshop we’ll discuss mutual respect as salt and light Christian witness in today’s political climate. We’ll share stories\, draw on some CRC Justice and Reconciliation ministries resources and remember that hope is action we take in community.
