For many it’s a place of pain\, confusion\, & hurt leading to profound emotional and spiritual wounding. How can we support churches to be places of healing and help prevent harm? Church leaders’ opportunity to learn about the use and misuse of power in the church \nParticipants will learn about:  \n\nthe gift and responsibility of power & spiritual authority \nstewarding authority in ways that lead to the flourishing of others \ndeepening our understanding of the abuses of power and how to prevent it \nreflecting on the importance of establishing healthy boundaries for oneself and others ➢ learning to cultivate a goodness culture in your congregation \n\nCouncils are requested to encourage ALL staff\, council members & leaders to participate in this training. DESCRIPTION:Circle of Grace is a Christian safe environment curriculum used and promoted in the CRCNA that helps teach the value of positive relationships with God and others. Circle of Grace educates and empowers children and young people to actively participate in a safe environment both for themselves and with others. \nIt is never too early to help children understand how they are created in the image of God and how\nrelationships in life are called to be sacred. Understanding this can help children and youth protect\nthemselves\, while at the same time be respectful of and toward others. \nCircle of Grace helps children and youth know how to: \n\nIdentify and maintain appropriate physical\, emotional\, spiritual\, and sexual boundaries.\nRecognize when boundary violations are about to occur.\nDemonstrate how to take action when boundaries are threatened or violated.\n\nKey Concepts of Circle of Grace: \n\nGod gives each of us a Circle of Grace where God is present.\nGod is present because God desires a relationship with us.\nGod helps us know what belongs in our Circle of Grace & what does not belong in our Circle of Grace.\nGod helps us know when to ask for help from someone we trust.\n\nNote: Circle of Grace is intended to supplement a K-12 church education curriculum for 1-4 weeks per year.
